How much do we trust PULSE ASIA and SOCIAL WEATHER STATION (SWS) of conducting the 2010 Philippine Presidential Survey?

Filipinos have been longing for a change in our government system for decades. A change which is necessary that can provide hope and uplift the lives of many people from pain, anguish, hardship, and poverty. It is sad to imagine that Filipinos have always associated and viewed their own government as being tainted, corrupt, disloyalty, and unworthiness. The upcoming Philippine Presidential Election in May 2010 could be a turning point of our country either to prosperity or suffering, provided Filipino voters chooses the right and qualified leader with an outstanding public track record. In spite of the difficult task on the horizon, many Filipinos remained puzzled and confused due to the emergence of numerous Presidential Candidates whose high ratings are only being driven by popularities, money, and fame. Paid advertising survey companies such as Pulse Asia and Social Weather Station (SWS) had also surfaced favoring a certain candidate and its sole purpose is either to confuse and misdirect Filipino voters to favor a particular candidates. It may seem that the media, commentators, bloggers etc had embraced the survey results, therefore threatening the country once again of choosing an incompetent leader of the country. Surveys remain very questionable and doubtful of how they are being conducted who always favors a popular candidate who has a huge celebrity and financial influence to the advertising company.
The Philippines kept being caught up in a repetitive cycle of choosing the wrong leader every six years, no wonder why the country and it’s people always suffers the consequences under the rule of a corrupt politician like Joseph Erap Estrada and Gloria Macapagal Arroyo. Again, Filipinos seem to follow the same trend again and follow the majority like the popular once and the businessman. Until the Filipino people elect a qualified leader, they will continue to get caught in a repetitive cycle once again for many more years to come.
The question remains do we trust paid survey companies such as Pulse Asia and Social Weather Station (SWS) of conducting surveys? Keep in mind Filipino personnel are the same people who are conducting the surveys themselves and at the moment Filipinos cannot be trusted when it comes to election survey!
